At Thompson Crowley Masonry Inc. we have been restoring and waterproofing foundations locally since 1965. We have been working on historic homes in Danvers, Salem, Concord and surrounding areas.
Being professionally trained stone and brick masons, we have a traditional masonry approach to stone foundation waterproofing. We expertly restore and waterproof your basement the way it was originally built. We restore, repair or replace failing mortar with expert masonry and then coat walls with a series of waterproofing products from traditional lime sealants to advanced breathable waterproof coatings.
Stone foundations leak and flood through failing masonry walls. Failing masonry is caused by loose stones and foundation mortar failure. Over time lime mortar in foundations will dry out and needs preservation to remain waterproof.
We specialize in stone foundation restoration and waterproofing of lime mortar foundations. Stone foundations built from 1600's to early 1900's in New England used lime mortar and stones and bricks for construction.
Working with lime requires knowledge of preservation, experience and characteristics of lime mortar.
